Volvo 240 B230 Turbo

The Story

Background

The client had a long-standing vision for a high-performance Volvo 240 and actually owned two cars to choose from. We initially planned to build his first car, but once it went in for bodywork assessment, the reality set in. The shell was too far gone to be worth saving.

The Pivot

Refusing to abandon the project, the focus was shifted to his second Volvo 240. While the exterior bodywork is scheduled for a future stage, we went "all in" on the engine bay. We stripped, smoothed, and repainted the engine bay to create a pristine home for the new upgraded powerplant.

The heart of the build is a fully built B230 Redblock. Engine was totally rebuilt - block bored and honed, installed forged internals, and ported the head to handle significant boost. To ensure the finish matched the performance, we applied custom paint to the engine parts and fabricated a custom crankcase ventilation and intake system, keeping the bay wire-tucked and clean.

The "Turbobrick"

The result is the definition of a street sleeper. It acts as a comfortable old school cruiser for the weekends, but with a built motor and a robust BMW GS6 gearbox swap, it has the torque to light up the rear tires on command.
