Project Profile

Ford Mustang S197 V10

The Story

Background

The client arrived with a standard V6 Mustang and a desire for something different. We discussed the usual route—swapping in a V8—but the client felt that if we were going to build a project, it had to be truly unique. A standard GT swap just wouldn't cut it.

The "Concept" Realized

We decided to build the car Ford never put into production. While a V10 Mustang existed only as a factory prototype, we made it a reality by shoehorning a massive 6.8L Ford Triton V10 between the strut towers.

To ensure the foundation was solid, the engine was completely rebuilt by Rookiez Garage, who machined the block and polished the crank. We then took over to make it work in a Mustang chassis. We fabricated a custom intake manifold mated to dual Bosch electronic throttles, all managed by a MaxxECU Pro to ensure modern drivability.

Torque Monster

The result is a torque-heavy cruiser that offers an experience unlike any V8. Mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual, it delivers a unique ten-cylinder soundtrack and endless torque—perfect for effortless cruising and, when the mood strikes, absolutely decimating the rear tires.
