Background

The client brought this car to us for a general check-up after purchasing it, wanting to ensure it was reliable for street driving. However, our inspection revealed severe issues hidden beneath the surface.

Crucially, we found evidence of old crash damage that had been poorly repaired, leading to significant rust spreading through the chassis. Combined with the messy wiring and mechanical faults, we immediately recommended finding a cleaner shell rather than trying to save this one. However, the client decided to stick with this specific car, giving us the green light to ignore the easy path and commit to a complete restoration.

The Turnaround

Once the decision was made to save the chassis, the scope expanded significantly. The build list was upgraded to include top-tier components—including a brand new OE Nissan gearbox, forged Tomei/Wiseco internals, and a Garrett G30 turbo.

We completely re-wired the car with a custom harness for the MaxxECU Race, solved the persistent boost leaks with custom fabrication, and reinforced the chassis to ensure the new power wouldn't tear the car apart.

Street & Track Ready

The result is a completely revitalized machine. We untangled the electrical gremlins and built a reliable, high-performance package suitable for daily driving. With a solid 360kW (480hp) on tap, it is now a properly sorted all-rounder—civilized enough for the street, but aggressive enough to hit the track or the drag strip on the weekends.
