Background

This S13 arrived as a "ten-footer"—a survivor from the golden era of tuning that looked aggressive on the outside but was tired and outdated underneath. The owner didn't just want a restoration; he wanted a redemption. The goal was to take a rough, old-school drift build and transform it into a refined "street weapon"—a car that is reliable enough to drive to the track, capable enough to drift it, and beautiful enough to pop the hood at a show.

Modernizing the Icon

To bring the build up to our standard, we stripped the engine bay to bare metal, eliminating rust and clutter to create a gallery-quality finish. We fabricated a bespoke intake manifold and piping to clean up the lines, then paired the forged internals with a Holset HX35 for reliable power.But the real magic is in the modernization. We integrated a MaxxECU Race to replace the archaic electronics, giving the driver tablet-control over boost levels and ride height via an AirCup system. It is high-tech control meets old-school JDM soul.

The Result

The finished product is a Rocket Bunny-widened icon pushing 359kW (480hp) at 7300RPM. It bridges the gap between raw drift performance and street sophistication. With a completely rebuilt fuel system and reliable protection sensors, it is no longer just a project car—it is a sharp, modernized classic that has respect on the street and the track.
