This short shifter is perfect for all 02M and 02Q gearboxes, whether they are 5- or 6-speed with shift cables. Newer versions of the 02J gearbox are also compatible, as long as the two cable ends in the car have the same diameter.

Here’s a quick way to check: If both of your shift cables are the same diameter, this short shifter is perfect for you! If the cables have different diameters, you’ll need our 02A shifter (RV-GOLF302A-BK).

Note that this shifter is mounted under the driveshaft tunnel, placing the shift cables outside the cabin.
